On Sunday morning, after the fest, Rick/Kerry, Dennis/Carol and Adam headed back to Florida. Hopefully they'll post something about their return trip. Pam and I spent an extra day in Houston and visited Galveston where we saw this strange vehicle:

On Monday morning (5 May) Pam and I headed up to the northwest side of Houston and stopped by Phastek and visited with Justin and Ricardo. The guys replaced my LED mail slot scanner while we were there.

We spent Monday through Thursday at Pam's parent's home in East Texas. We were supposed to take a hot air balloon ride while there, but the weather wouldn't cooperate.

On Friday (9 May) we left East Texas. We were supposed to return to Florida but the Camaro was so much fun to drive, and comfortable, I surprised Pam by heading north. I wouldn't tell her where we were going; but she finally guessed when we got about two hours south of Branson MO. We spent four days there, did a lot of sightseeing and saw four shows. One of the theaters displayed a sign I thought was perfect:

If you've visited Branson in the past seven years you are familiar with a vocal group called "The Six." It is composed of six very talented brothers. Each drives a 5th generation Camaro. We had tickets for their show and when we arrived at the Mickey Gilley theater, all six Camaros were parked in front in prime parking. One of the brothers was getting out of his Camaro and invited us to park our car with theirs. The brothers wear jackets and shirts to match the colors of the stripes on their individual cars.

And finally...
On Tuesday (13 May) we left Branson and took three days to make the trip back to Lehigh Acres. We stopped the first night in Tupelo MS (the birthplace of Elvis) where a tornado had ripped the town apart two weeks earlier.



It was a pretty sobering sight to see and I hope we never see that kind of devastation in our area in the future. The Days Inn we stayed in had suffered extensive damage, but they were able to make temporary repairs before we got there.

The Tampa and SWFL Chapters of Tri-County Camaros Club will gather together for fun and relaxation at Sharkey's on the Pier in Venice on the 31st of May.

This is an event no Camaro enthusiast on the west coast of Florida will want to miss (and you guys on the east coast will want to join in too)

For the SWFL crew, we will caravan to Sharkey's from Cracker Barrel at the intersection of I-75 and Palm Beach Blvd. Please be at Cracker Barrel no later than 9:30 AM.

To make sure there is enough seating, please post on this thread the number of people in your party that will be joining in the fun.
