I have one, don't even know the name, but it was a very popular one, maybe Escort. Hmmm... Now i will have to find out what it is... It sticks to the window and falls off, stick it back, it falls of... I need a new one. I will look at the Valentine mentioned (never heard of that one), as well as the Escorts mentioned, which I have heard of.

I have not gotten a ticket since running mine, and when I have vision that will see over hills and around corners, I might stop using one and use my eyes. But I think my eyes are just going to get worse before they get better, due to age... :(

What does VG2 "anti detector detector" mean? Does it mean it is one of those that messes with the radar detector being used? I have heard of something like that advertised on the radio, just wasn't sure if this is what that meant...

It means that a police officer isn't alerted to the fact that you are using a radar detector through his/her equipment.

Information for all of you that have radar detectors........
I am a police officer and the only reason a radar detector will work for you is if the cop is lazy and just leaves the radar unit on as he is driving or sitting somewhere. If he is taking sample readings from random cars, and that random car happens to be you, it will only work if your vehicle can slow down at the speed of sound(or light if it is a laser radar unit). For example i was on patrol one night and observed a vehicle traveling at me what looked like a high rate of speed, I activated my radar unit and it gave me a reading of 55mph (30mph zone). I never saw a front end of a car dip down harder than this one. When I talked to the guy all he could say is "Yeah you got me". So in conclusion think about this before you go and spend a boatload of money on this virtually useless device.

I agree... I used to have one and found that I actually got more tickets than I did previously or since I quit using one. I actually had my car broken into twice just to steal the stupid thing.... I also found out (thru experience) that a cop will more likely cut you some slack if you don't have one of those as compared to automatically getting a ticket if they spot one....

It was hard at first, but when I got my SSR (which gets a lot of attention...yellow with flames), I just slowed my butt down... There is nothing wrong with crusing and letting everyone see how cool looking your car is...especially a cool Camaro...

Of course, I can say this before actually driving a Camaro...I guess it is easier said than done....

The only reason I'm thinking about getting one, and I havent ever owned one (almost 40 yrs old) is simply due to Photoradar which I think is total B.S. If they arent stopped they will be at every mile marker, intersection, etc. The only reason for them is to generate revenue.... so I say if you are going to be that lame give me a car that always does the correct speed (understands construction zones, speed changes, etc and auto-compensates) so there is no chance of a ticket... oh wait then they wont make money.... guess I wont ever see a car like that.....

I'm not someone to constantly speed but those things are enough to ruin my day even when I go by them and I'm doing the correct speed or slower.

Escort 8500 (works great)
But lately the local cops in my area just sit and keep everything turned off until the very last second (then they shoot you with the lazer and you're done). So you have to be very careful.

Dear LEO, thanks for the advice. I will keep using my $500 "useless" device which has saved me a boatload of money in traffic fines.

i dont use one. based on the fact that, this is going to sound stupid, i dont mind paying the tickets if i'm caught. plus i know if they saw one in the car i would be given a ticket automatically, while not having one the cop may give me a break.

the only time i used one is when i took a trip to chicago, damn thing was a POS and annoyed me. plus around town i know where the cops will be clocking people.
