question on disclosure when buying new camaro

I bought a 2014 ss1le 2 weeks ago that had supposedly been mildly damage by a child on the showroom floor. It was touched up i was told and I was given a decent deal and at that time let the dealer know there was a punch list of items I wanted knocked out from the touch ups such as overspray in some areas. They had the car for the whole first week I owned it to complete this list. Picked it back up on thursday only to find some of the list had been addressed. Now ive detailed the car twice and it is obvious that 80%+ of the car has been repainted including under the hood inside the door jams, the roof, trunk lid, and whole ass end both rear fenders. Paint jobs is awful i couldve done better with a spray can. Seems to me more damage than i was actually told. Im super angry as it was supposed to be mild damage done by a child with a toy. There is no car fax report but I found out dealer has 10k deductible before it would go on car fax. I feel i have been duped and that something way more serious has happened to my car that they have not disclosed. What are my options here, what are disclosure rules in this situation? Do I demand they re repaint or demand they order me a new one at their loss? Had they told me the whole car had been painted or damaged I wouldnt have bought it or I wouldve asked more off the price. They said I have to wait until the owner of the dealership gets home from his vacation to find out anything else or how they want to handle this.

I would demand a re-paint. I'm not really sure what your legal options would be, but it might be helpful to get your local news station involved if you can't reach an amicable solution with the dealer.

No one wants bad publicity.

Contact GM customer service

http://www.moderncamaro.com/forum/me...r-service.html

Tell them what going on and see if they can help. They might also be on C5 but have not seen any post from them. They work for mother GM.

Supposedly owner of dealer returns tomorrow so I was going to wait to hear his offer on this situation before I escalate this with g.m. I think I want them to buy car back with no loss to me and get me a new one

I was just looking to see if you are close to me to see if you wanted to join Emerald Coast Camaro's. I don't bash dealers unless they screw me over but I always try to resolve using the low key method.

I would accept nothing less than a buy back as they were dishonest. Good luck!

Joe IMHO with the bad luck as you have had with re-paints I would demand a new car. Sounds like the kid scratched the paint all the way down the car. Is it the same dealership you picked up your ZL1 from if so I would ask for a buyback or a new car. The only bodyshop that I have found that was any good was the David Maus body shop they did a great job on my rear decklid re-paint and my ZL1 insert.

Thats my thought too. I didnt mind when they said it had a few touchups but I can surely see way more than that now that ive gone over it a couple times. To me with all the paint thats been done it looks like it was in a wreck, maybe a joyride gone bad. I made them put it on the lift and I couldnt see any damage or work under the car. also looks like windshield may have been replaced. Not same dealer I bought zl1 from.

Does the windshield have the GM logo on it if not yes it's been replaced. I would bet some type of accident. If a kid did any damage to it I could not imagine him getting 3/4 of the car with a toy I smell B.S. on this and yes a New car IMHO is in order. What as MSRP $46k yea new car or have them buy it back.
