So the sidewall on each side would be 39.375mm or about 1.5". |

Can anyone comment on a good recommended tire size for OEM ZL1/1LE wheels on a 2010 Camaro SS with coil overs dropped 1"?
Not sure if I should go with a square tire set up like the 1LE or a tire setup similar to the ZL1 I currently have Forgeline GA3's installed with Nitto Invo's (275's up front and 315's rear) but I hear they run a bit small. I was thinking about trying Michelin pilot power super sports for my new wheels. |

Would it be a bad idea to go with a -0.81 difference? (-2.8%). Currently i'm running the stock wheel/tire setup on my ss.
(Front 245/45-20 = 28.66" tall, 8.0 wheel Rear 275/40-20 = 28.66" tall, 9.0 wheel) But I wanted to switch to a square setup with 20x10 inch wheels and the same tire size as the 1LE but in the Michelin PSS. Front 285/35-20 = 27.85" tall, 10.0 wheel Rear 285/35-20 = 27.85" tall, 10.0 wheel Also, how does the reading work for the odo? (I'm new at this ) If both wheels are 2.8% off each, then does it add up and make everything 5.6% off or will it still be 2.8% off? I wanted to put 275/40-20 on my car but I realized that a 285/35/20 tire is 2/3 the price.

Here's some more actual wheel/tire weights... I'm seeing a big difference between slightly USED and NEW tires... and a huge difference between near bald vs. new tires...
I don't have the same exact tire NEW, vs. BALD... But I do have a brand new set of ZL1 tires from Tire Rack... two 285 fronts, and 2 305 rears. The two fronts weight the exact same... 31.4lbs. The two rears weight different since one is "machined" to be round from Good Year.. and I'm trying to get a replacement... anyway: Front 1: 285/35/20: 31.4lbs Front 2: 285/35/20: 31.4lbs Rear 1: 305/35/20: 33.6lbs Rear 2: 305/35/20: 33.0lbs (this has barely visible wear marks.. but does have rubber dust in the tread... I would say ~2mm is shaved) The YELLOW and GREEN are my actual weighted numbers... Either way it looks like the Factory ZL1 wheels are lighter than the Replica ZL1 wheels.. but both APPEAR to be lighter than the stock Camaro 2SS wheels (if they all had full new tread!) Since ~1-2mm of tread is = to 0.6lbs on my ZL1 305/35-20 |

Morning guys....
New to the site and got to get this question answered ASAP so here's the deal. My '13 2SS/RS had an unexpected meeting with a big curb that jumped out in front of us the other day. I'm down front right wheel and tire and rear right wheel and tire, both are factory SS stock. Insurance adjuster overwrote my loss for whatever reason so I've got a few bucks to spare. Now here is the $1,000,000.00 question that I need to know within a day or so. Being my stock wheels were 20x8 and 20x9, I am wanting to replace my polished aluminum wheels while it's down anyway with the black ZL1 wheels which I understand are 20x10 front and 20x11 rear. Do I need to tire shop or can the stock size SS tires I was running be used with the wider ZL1 wheels? My apologies if this is the wrong place for this question but I haven't had much time to look around here yet. Looking forward to learning some great info here at Camaro5! |

Figures. Gonna lose a bet over this. Don't know if I'm gonna have enough cash left over for 4 new tires....was hoping to just need two. Maybe more feasible to stick with an aftermarket black wheel in the 20x8 and 20x9, huh? What do u think? Wanted to get a little more aggressive kind of look.
