Really bad MPGs...?

90% of my driving is in they city and I am currently getting 15.5 MPGs. I don't speed a lot or get on it very much. Is 15.5 good for a V6? What is everyone else getting? Could something be wrong?

City wise I would get 14.x MPG with my 2012 2LS and now I am getting 13.x MPG with my 2014 2LS. Lotsa stop and go. Sounds about right.

MLAZ1990,

I'd check and if necessary replace your engine air filter and check your tires for the proper air pressure. Our Camaro has pretty wide tires and the extra weight to move them sucks the MPG pretty fast. Reset your computers MPG monitor gas up the car and take it for a nice easy drive on the highway being reasonable on the speed and try to get the largest MPG figure you can get. If it's still low then a trip to the local Chevy dealership is in order.

Cleaned my air filter and put more air in my tires...still same MPG. I wanted an SS so bad but now, I'm kinda glad I have a 6. If I had an 8, geez I don't even wanna know what I'd be getting!

i average 20 -22 in city with v8.... really getting on drops it to 18 even.

The Ls3 paired with m6 is so big it dosent require high rpms to go like the v6 auto. I drive with half to 3\4 throttle up to 2500 rpm. Autos are really inefficent in stop and go traffic, because of fluid torque converter but mostly high engine speed combined with alot more suction losses because of light throttle driving.

FWIW.... your high way speed mileage probably is better than mine all around. Mine can and does drop it from 29mpg to 24 to 26 mpg as other factors with the enviroment come in to play.

Press your throttle more. If you do live in chicago, keep in mind that the speeds there are so slow and the traffic is so congested that 15 mpg may be reasonable.
