www.gmpartsdirect.com is much better then buying from a dealer. Just FYI

All you need is a good friend, beer and a weekend to waste.

I believe that gmpartsdirect is simply a dealer with a web based store. Most online OEM parts vendors are. Also, while the price they show is comparatively good, they charge almost $100 shipping. In the end it looks like $500 is the neighborhood of what it will cost.

I suspect the the dealer Ofer works with will be competitve with the other OEM vendors. With the amout of interest in this retrofit there will hopefully be a group buy which might get the price down a bit. I also believe that the HUDs he sells will have extra pages added to the programming.

If I decide to do this Mod, I will be changing out the entire Dash.

Yea for anybody with the 10-11 I would recommend it. Its not that bad of a price around $400-500. You should be able to reuse a few parts like the top vents and maybe the glove box I assume. I wonder if you could add a extra speaker in the spot at the center? If you got the extra cash at hand might as well go for the steering wheel and airbag. Keep in mind the bezel by the DIC can be hard to take off once installed, so if you want to have a custom colored one, best do it while you're installing your HUD or DIC.

I have already had my dash removed to do the HUD Mod, my car was the second 2010 Camaro to have a HUD installed, Ofer's was the first on the West Coast. I have the BA sound system in my Camaro also, so there is a speaker up there in the center of the dash. I have also done the FULL ABL install and recently the MyLink Retrofit. So my Dash and center console have been removed before. Once for the Full Dash and about four times for the Center Console.

DEWALEX.....I'm assuming the colored HUD with the 2010 windshield still looks good?

Also, why spend the extra money on a new dash. If you can handle the other portions of the install then you should be able to handle cutting the dash. It doesn't have to be 100% perfect from what I remember from DIY install. There should be a trim ring that covers up some of the cutting.

probably for the new design... i kind of agree, I wish i had the "leather" inserts ... If i could go back, I would have gotten the new dash when I did HUD also

ok i have a 2012 with hud. so I should be able to buy a 14 hud and a 14 ZL1 cluster and it will just plug in or haven't we got the cluster figured out yet? I want the color hud and 200mph color ZL1 dash.

The color HUD will fit all cars, all you need is the switch trim and the harness that fits your car (per model), the DIC is not 100% at this time we are still working on it.
