Pretty interesting.

Found this pretty interesting.. was just watching a movie, and clearly bored out of my mind.. at work... and based on these 2014 "police" charger specs.. They are barely faster than my v6 0-60.. *on paper*.. have no idea my personal 0-60 time with mods but i just think thats pretty crazy.. any idea what the 5.7 usually runs on a track? For all the people who comment about you cant outrun the police, thank you i know and do not plan on it. Was strictly bordem at work.. Graveyard shift, done with homework and praying these last two hours hurry on by. Just thought this was interesting.

So apparently the whole chart i was looking at wasnt put into the post..

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/dodge/2...-ar160544.html

here is the link i was reading.. about 1/4 -1/2 way down in the article, they have a chart with the 3.6/5.7rwd and 5.7 AWD numbers. The post above refers to the v6 camaro vs the 5.7 rwd and or the 5.7awd.. not the 3.6

With all the equipment these cars have to carry it slows them down alot. But the hemi is a fast ass cop car. Also im sure he would have no problem catching a V6 camaro

It's a common myth that "police package" vehicles have upgraded engines and suspension. They generally do not unless specifically requested by that department. Vehicles are usually ordered with light bars, plastic back seats, radar mounts and rifle/shotgun racks. Everyone up here seems to be going with Ford Explorers or the Taurus. A few departments up here still have Chargers in the fleet but they are being phased out due to reliability issues.

Only thing on the early chargers were the brakes and rotors were shit. New ones seem to be holding up pretty good. I think we are about to see more caprice cop cars.

Right clearly on top end it would pull harder than the v6.. but the 0-60 times are pretty close.. not very impressive by the r/t

But you have to remember the weight with all the gear and radio equipment. Put that weight in your car and your would be even slower to 60 lol.

Interesting that Dodge finally decided to go FI on the newest 392. With an extra few hundred pounds over a SS camaro, you would think that adding hp/tq would be something they wanted a few years back.

Why you say that? The 6.1 hemi was a drivers race with the SS. And the SS needs mods to beat or hang with the 392. Also its a 6.2L in the new hellcat.

Guess what I was trying to say is both Chevy and Ford have done FI in the mustang and camaro trims, while Dodge hasn't tried it until now.

Police packages include special front seats, blank rear door panels, and they do include heavier duty suspension and brake components, as well as transmission and engine oil coolers. I don't know of any department that would order a standard car and then retro fit things on it. Also, they don't come with the light bars, shields, gun racks, and radios/computers from the factory.

It should be noted that the Ford Taurus SHO police interceptor is tuned way over stock parameters... it gets up to 6 mpg less than stock.

It's a stock engine, and it's on a stock tune. Has the same power as the stock SHO.
