Welcome, Stormwalker - thanks for joining! I think you'll find folks mostly friendly here, another reason I went with the Camaro.

Maybe you'll like the 2011's more now that you have your beautiful 2014 ride? :-) Maybe not - either way, welcome!!

As I've been looking through the garages, I've actually come around on the back end of the earlier Camaros. I still like the 2014 *better*, but I've seen too many nice 2010-2013 models not to come to appreciate them.

I still think the front of the 2010-2011 seems too slab-like. But the rest of the car is pretty enough that I can say I like them on the whole.

As for the person who cautioned me about parking so close to the curb, you're very right. I'm fortunate the curbs in the parking lot at work are very low, and I worry more about someone going flying through the parking lot and tagging the back end if I stick out too far. I park in the outer reaches of the parking lot, but some days the lot fills almost completely so I can't escape.

In my carport space at my apartment I don't dare pull that close, though.

And I *hate* places that put those stupid little curb things that are way too tall at the front of their parking spaces. It's like someone invented those things just to troll sports car owners.

EDIT: To add, I don't know HOW Z/28 owners can park that thing without being paranoid about crunching that gigantic splitter. I think I'd park back-in everywhere if I owned a Z/28.

Also, on the 1LE thing - they didn't have one at the dealer, and I'm not patient enough to order. The black hood look isn't really my thing, though, so I kinda think I'd rather just buy the 1LE suspension kit for a standard SS (which I plan to do with this one, eventually) Also lets me spread out the cost (though certainly will cost me more overall).

In any car I'm driving, I'll back into parking spots as often as I possibly can (some places this actually may not be allowed). If I'm stuck between two SUVs or other large vehicles I want to be driving forward when I leave.

This is unfortunately how I got into the habit of parking head-in. It was required at my last residence (apartment complex). My new place doesn't require it, but... hard to change habits once they've been ingrained.

I'm so glad to have the back-up camera now, though... I was always paranoid about someone's kid or little dog running out behind me while I was backing out.

More pictures!

I promised more pictures after getting a chance to wash her.

Here are some. Lighting isn't great, I need to find a better place to take pictures (and a better photographer! Heheh), but it's something.

Thank y'all again for such a warm welcome. I've learned a lot about my car here already that I might have missed out on if I hadn't found y'all.

I went through the same situation, I have had a couple mustangs through the years and never liked the late 80's- 90's camaro. But then my daughter was dating a manager for a car dealership and he brought over a 2010 2ss bumble bee style. He asked me if I wanted to take it for a ride, I said sure, that was it the next day I went down and bought it. I have never enjoyed a car as much as I do my camaro, never modded as much than I have with this car! I love my Camaro! I don't think I will ever get rid of it. Good luck too you! And enjoy the hell out of it!

Look at all this LOVE from fellow Camaro5 members. You wouldn't get this much in a Mustang forum
