Curb scratch on my rim

Its been a year since ive had my baby & this morning i got my first scratch on my rim horrible way to start my day! I am so upset!

Its like an inch long! Is there anything you guys recommend to use to fix it myself or am i better of getting it professionally done?

I've curbed 2 different rims.... it sucks. Just take it to a good wheel shop. Its cheap and they should be fixing the rim and powder coating the whole thing - looks like nothing happened

I did my own good tape job and plastic bags taped over rest wheel and fender and got can black satin finish rim paint from Napa or advanced cant remember looks fine only I can even find it. Mine was about 1 1/2 inches long right on the lip an 1/8-1/4 inch wide. Used dremmell to smooth out the rash and painted. If it bothers me I can have it professionally done later but been month now and I never notice it. I am amazed at how bad the mirrors are in these cars you can set them to either see what behind you or whats beside you not both.

I saw a STS with rims curbed to hell. I'm amazed at people who don't care about their cars. I curbed my z06 replicas and almost cried.

A black sharpie works very well depending on the size of the scratch.......not that I've ever used it.

Since I currently had my rim damaged........... black sharpie actually does work well but it is temporary. I used that as a temp fix.

There are paint pens at staples that are supposed to work well but my staples do not have them so I never used it.

What I did is, drove to my dealer and bought black paint touch up for the Camaro (GBK/WA8555) and touched it up that way. the GBK is nearly a perfect match. The only thing is the black is a little more glossy. On a small area I highly recommend it.

At 6,000 miles my wheels already have chips/marks of abrasion where grit and gravel hit the spokes (mostly when driving in the rain). I've been looking into getting the wheels refinished at some future point.

There have been epistles written on the dangers of powder coating wheels because of the high temperatures needed and how that temperature reduces the strength of our wheels.

All that to say, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to refinish my wheels....

LOL!

The first time I parked my car I was 3 feet from the parking block....I made my wife go out and guide me so I could get a little closer.

I just put new wheels on my car a month ago. I park like a little bitch lol! It takes me a few minutes to park on the street since I try to be careful, but also get close to the curb as possible. People watch like "wtf is he doing". Came very close last week.
