ZFat's First 100 Miles

Plycar enclosed transport for the win, thanks folks!

My observations somewhat differ from others I've read so far and I'm sure it's due to previous experiences. My point of reference is Porsche GT cars- GT3RS, GT2RS, GT3RS 4.0, etc.

Here are my first 100 miles comments on the Z/28 with that in mind.

* Wow!
* It's sublime
* Feels perfectly light
* Interior is fine- The reporter who wrote it had a "sub Korean interior" has his head up his ass.
* It's sophisticated in many ways I was not expecting.
* Tasty torque!
* As you would expect- a perfectly composed suspension. More comfortable around town than the Porsche GT cars
* Personally, I'd daily drive the hell out of it, I'm fine with a solidly sprung, well-dampened ride
* I had no problem with tramlining, hunting or any other challenging road behaviors. I'd take my hands off the wheel and it would track in a straight line.

I can't think of anything negative to say?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the steering feel. It's great and the wheel feels good in your hands. The shifter and shift action is very good. The car feels like it's milled from a block of billet, rock solid.

Great car, can't wait to get the break-in miles on it and get it on track this weekend. Worth every penny of $75k and it's destined to be a coveted addition to any car enthusiast's garage.

Well fricken' done Chevy. Thank you!

Congrats on getting the new car and glad you like it! You took a bit of flack on Rennlist the last couple of months for your thoughts on getting away from the P cars but I agree with a lot of your thoughs on the matter. To me at the end of the day driving pleasure and bang for the buck come first, brand loyaly is a distant 3rd. Are you going to make it out to T-hill this weekend?

Congrats. Glad she blew away your expectations. That's one fine piece of machinery.

Great

I wouldn't expect anything else from a guy who has always driven nice cars, and researched the Z28 enough to know just what to expect. Congratulations

There will be a brief track write-up early next week as a follow-up to this thread.

Right on! This Z is easily as gratifying as any of the Porsches. Easily. It is a very nice car. And a dirt-cheap bargain comparatively speaking.

I will be at TH this weekend, new 5- mile course as you know brt3 will be there too, Z/28 in stereo. We'll all be roasting alive together!

I did the loop to Carson City and back and then up Geiger Grade to VC. Couldn't resist

You know, we hope we know what to expect? But we never really do until the reality of driving the car. You and I both know certain "Great Marketing Machines" will feed us some mighty tall tales

Thankfully the Z/28 has been under promise and over deliver ever since the reveal in March 2013. I can truthfully attest it is a very pleasurable car to drive by any measure. And a bargain for the engineering excellence it offers.

Lol!

I would not want to drive it on potholed roads, but cruising around here, there is no drama.
