Supercharger Replacement
Does anyone know or has anyone taken their beloved Z in for this TSB and gotten a 2014 setup or 12-13 with a solid isolator. I'm calling my dealer Tuesday and wanna know if they are putting in old factory new supers or if they are installing brand new ones with solid isolators. Any comment question etc. Is welcome.
Brandon PS. Old account got deleted by mistake so this is my new account name. |

Odds are the dealer will have no idea what GM will be supplying as replacements, and unless there is a difference in part numbers or other identifying marks, we won't either unless we open them up.
All GM is required to do under a warranty is to replace the item with an equivalent part. Period. |

The bulletin gives the part numbers for the new supercharger with the solid coupler.
They just need to follow the new bulletin. If it rattles at idle, put the listed parts in. The new supercharger has a new part number. |

I was wondering the same thing. Didn't really want to give up my 2013 low mile supercharger for something else with a ton of miles on it.

The replacement unit (supercharger) may carry a new part number as a service unit, but will the actual supercharger housing/guts themselves be brand new or possibly refurnished and re-certified and warrantied? I can't imagine Eaton making that many brand new superchargers when all they'd have to do is replace the coupler and shaft and verify the units overall performance & condition. Just speculation here. |

First of all please name a member on here that has received a used or rebuilt supercharger? I never had the "isolator rattle" just the beginning of an obvious bearing failure as it was noisy on start up in the mornings! I received a new unit when it was replaced earlier this year. I had to wait an extra day due to the new supercharger being sent but no new gasket with it from GM. If it was a refurbished unit and fails, I'd just go back for another. But not likely B stock product from Eaton.

I don't know if the same applies, but on the CTS-v that had bad isolators, they just swapped out the supercharger. It was listed as a return to manufacturer, not a GM serviceable part.

Does anyone have the direct link to the TSB? I wanna read it and look at the new part numbers. Going into my dealer tomorrow morning to have them hear the rattle. Would like to have some information in hand.

Dropped mine off this morning. Rattles at start up and at idle. Dealer is going to replace my blower with a new one. Will overnight one and I should have the car back tomorrow evening.

I talked to my dealer today concerning TSB 13-313. (Was in for a separate issue) He told me that if you have a rattle they will replace the supercharger with the new style. If you don't have any noise then there is nothing the dealer will do. He assured me that the TSB also extends out the warranty to 10 years and 120K miles.
