The Camaro ss...mustang gt were labled musclecars with these option.

At least no one argues with you on whether or not you should've gotten a V8

Nope, because they were not mid to full-sized family cars.

It's not a muscle car it is a sports car. The V8 is a wannabe muscle car and the only reason it would be a muscle car is because it has a v8.

Put two men side by side, one is older can only bench 300 pounds. Then put a younger man next to him looks smaller but can lift slightly more than him. Guess who looks like a body builder and guess which one doesnt, but can lift more?

If you let it get to you, you'll always be tired. The only answer is to not be tired--you can't change the rest of 'em.

I swear some people on here sell their 6 just so they can be part of the "Mean Girls" crowd in the SS clan. Not sure why we can't all appreciate that we like essentially the same car but with different options.

They haven't made muscle cars in decades....

Then again, I'm not sure why any of you would want to associate your 5th gens with muscle cars. My car is better than that.

Let's just adopt the name "Performance Cars" and drive the *ell out of them and have fun.

I'm also thinking I'm happy mine isn't a muscle car. It handles well, gets decent gas mileage, and has excellent acceleration. I'd be sacrificing 2/3 of those things with a true muscle car.

This is the most interesting info I've read on the topic. Thank you for enlightening me.

But didn't the base Chevy II come with a 4-cylinder? So the straight six was indeed a higher performance option?

Your Muscle Cars back then did nothing that our Muscle Cars now can't do better. We have smaller engines making more HP and TQ than some of your big blocks on top of being more fuel efficient and putting out less emissions despite having more restrictions. We have lighter bodies that accelerate faster and have higher top speeds. We handle better, brake better, our transmissions shift quicker and stronger and are more durable, and we don't need to rev at 4,000 RPMs while going 40 MPH. What did you guys have back then? Turbo 350 and Turbo 400 transmissions? 4 speed manuals with no overdrive? LOL! Come on man. We have 6 and 7 speed manuals. We have more creature comforts, more options, our cars are more reliable in all weather conditions, can drive in rain and snow without tire chains or sand bags in the trunk. Shall I continue? So by your definition, how are our modern V8 Camaros NOT Muscle Cars? There is literally not one category where the old Muscle Cars can out perform our new Muscle Cars.

First of all, usually the only ones who say that are the ones who bought SS's in '10 and '11. More egos that sense. Now that the ego driven ones are 3rd or 4th down on the totem poll in Camaro land, the egos have come down a peg or 2
