When i was young and dumb with my 97 WS6 trans am, a car I bought at 17 after saving all of my allowance and paychecks for the prior 13 years I had to learn this way. My WS6 had headers, exhaust and airbox upgrade. It was no slouch during its time. However one night after a car show at Indianapolis International I saw a "Monte Carlo SS" driven by some old guy next to me in staging. "I'm gonna beat the piss out of this boat of a car"

As you may have guessed it was not an SS, it was in fact a 87 GNX that put a bus length or two on me. Lesson learned.

If you actually do race this kid, please let us know about it. I'd love to know if he just drives off afterwards, or actually has the nerve to come and talk afterwards.

Manual is 5.9 seconds, Auto is 6.4

6.4 is straight off GM's website:

Just to be clear, the 6.4 is for the 2LS. The LTs with the auto are 5.9 secons like the 1L

If it has the sport pack they pull close to 0.9 Gs on the skid pad. That's not too shabby.

Assuming that difference would be in rear wheel gearing ratio?
