In the middle of my yearly memorial day trip. Lots o bugs (not the VW type) after 375 miles. Had to give it a wash (don't worry it is a hand wash (at family)). Needed to wipe several times to get everything off, but no heavy rubbing needed. Cant tell if is the xpell or the C1/exo coating, but so far so good.

Mrs Mike.Ss picked up new car today.
No, not a 5gen... (company starts with an S, and the model, bears live in them and typically "go" there )
Set up to have full hood, bumper, and partial fenders Full C1, Exo.
No group buy. Thats ok.
As my previous post states, I am happy with it..
Early anniversary gift?

When you picked up your car you were supposed to make a follow up appointment usually 6 weeks after you had your paint protection done. I didn't know anything about it so I figured I would make sure everybody else knew.

They want to make sure ther are no issues with the edges, and all.

What Mike said. I guess they do a once over of the entire job to make sure it doesn't have any issues that you aren't happy about.

So I found out today, that they 'go to' touch up on black cars is a Sharpie. Yes, they did use a Sharpie to "hide" the rock chips on my car, only in bright sunlight are they noticible.

But the guys explained to me why they did it: either they use Sharpie and it was free and you can only see it if you are really close and in direct sunlight or they paint touch up each chip which includes wetsanding etc which would take hours and hours for each little chip (which means expensive) and then when the XPEL goes on, there would be a bubble around everyone since they are raised. He showed me one of these and honestly, I'd take the black dot anyday.

This sort of convinced me, I am just upset that they didnt tell me they were going to use Sharpie and they could have used smalled dots (because for a grain of sand sized dot there is a sharpie mark 20 times the size of it) but hey, what are you going to do?

The disadvantage of using a Sharpie is that it will completely fade away in a couple months and the chip will show up under the film down the road. I install film as well and find that Dr. Colorchip works the best if I am applying film on a car with existing chips. The color match is dead on and it doesn't leave any raised blobs of paint that show up under the film... Something you may want to purchase if you plan on applying film on your car that may already have a few chips on it...

I figured you would've seen me driving down there. Lunch would've been awesome. On a serious note Jay you should check out their new website. I hear your car is famous. And Christian gave me a bunch of automobilia stickers for anybody who had work done there. Just let me know if anybody wants one.
