Leaning against car door while it's open

This really pisses me off when my friend leans against my door while it's open, is it just me or does any of you feel the same ? I feel like my door can't handle their freaking 200 pound weight, but I don't how to tell them about not to lean on it, how strong is the door? How much weight can it handle?

NONE!

Just take their arm and lean it back the other way at the elbow! See how much weight it can take. Should be the same as your door.

i'd curse someone out for leaning on my door, opened or closed. my wife set her pack of cigarettes on my car one night and i yelled at her for it.

Sack up and tell your friend to please don't do that. If said friend ignores your polite request then put on your pimp hand and slap their ass. Sorry to be harsh but damn. It's your property and unless your friend is willing to make the payments for you then stop it.

As for how much weight can the door take? I dunno but, i bet it's more than your buddies nose.

There is no reason for anyone family, friend, or stranger to lean on or touch your car. People need to be respectful of other people property( getting down with OPP) I don't care if the car is a beater it's not mine I will treat like it was mine and not do anything stupid to it. Tell your friend you would appreciate him not leaning on your car, if he's your friend he will understand and comply with your wishes

stack weights on the door and when the hinge snaps, subtract 1 pound

The hinges can't support the doors weight for the life of the car ....added weight will only prematurely cause them to fail...

I would say a groin shot will stop it lol..I certainly wouldn't push the weight on the doors. the doors are heavy enough ...230 lbs I believe

hahaha

there was a joke once... someone at GM gets paid $100k a year to slam and open doors abruptly.

I'm sure the door can handle some leaning. everyone needs to calm down a bit.

You could simply just say 'hey please don't lean against the door that way, dont want the hinge to bend'

if you're looking for an actual number as to how much pressure / weight the door hinge can withstand, i'm 90% sure this number doesn't exist.
