Splitter Durability

I can personally attest- it's damn tough! So much so I'll say that if you have to replace one, you've also got other body and and maybe frame damage.

This isn't what you and I are used to.

Also- be sure to check that the f*cking monkeys who installed your splitter at delivery actually put all the bolts in! Mine never had the main 4 bolts into the support brackets installed and half the other screws were missing.

Don't fear scraping, or parking by braille, it won't hurt it at all. Unfortunately I can also attest that offs probably won't hurt it either.

Murica!

Hi Fred from Pa.# 143 here. I can agree the splitter will take abuse from scraping the bottom. Going across parking lot aprons can get a little dicey. Just watch the direct collision with the nose. I busted a chunk out of mine right under the point. Not paying atttention to my suroundings And tapped one of those parking lot things. Now I have 2 splitters. I will leave the damaged one on until I stop smashing into shi!. Not to bad only a $370.00 mistake.

I was stunned, watching the video, that you didn't sustain splitter damage. I wonder if their failure to install all the bolts actually allowed more flex, and saved you from more damage?

Me too, plus no damage to any of the aero/plastic on the passenger side. It's a damn tough car.

Good question and I could make a case for more or less damage had all the bolts/screws been there. As it is, the damage was due to existing bolts being pulled though plastic, so would that have happened had they all been there? Likely not, so perhaps less damage?

You'd have to see how everything attaches under there. There is plenty of crush and bend areas engineered in as well as some slotted adjustments that could allow for a hit. It's all very well designed to absorb bad things and be easy and cheap to fix. Unlike a lot of other cars
