Retro would be having two all metal keys and no fob lol. This would actually be pretty cool if they were thicker and higher quality. That's not gonna happen here though.

I'm sorry, I paid good money for this car (double if not more than a Cruze that has PUSH TO START), and I am going to keep my flip key (unless you make the solution a "push to start' fix) because the flip key, in turn, make the Camaro what it is today as a whole. You guys need to come up with a better (and more appealing) solution, if you want to take the flip key since it's a "safety"?? issue, come up with something that is equivalent that I'll gladly give it up for, which also isn't a downgrade (AKA PUSH TO START) or just give me another flip key, because even with the separate fob and key, it will STILL encounter the same problem the cobalt has (not an issue for 99% of people in this forum it seems at all), you didn't fix anything, if anything you probably make the issue more prone to happening now changing to this 2 piece design. This "new key" is the ugliest and the BIGGEST downgrade being put into effect.

I will gladly pay to convert to a push to start system, which is already being used in GM vehicles with the same keyfob.

Sincerely,
An avid (and now annoyed) Camaro Owner

GM is so gun shy right now,if there is any possible way that something may go wrong with any of their cars down the road, they are taking care of the POSSIBLE issue now, I think this would be a GREAT time to just install push button start on all of them, then I would have this recall done,

Of course, this could have been all avoided if the Camaro had a push-button starter like many of the other current model cars in the marketplace...

He's jokin. But it looks like the only logical fix would be a new key and fob that are no longer together.

Just got off the phone with the service advisor at my local dealership. My car is there now for other issues. I told her that I don't want this recall done to my Camaro. She also said that they have been getting similar calls. And even people who work there and own Camaros said they won't be getting the recall done to their cars either.

I suggest if you don't want this done, call your local service department and then Chevy Customer Care. The number is 1-800-222-1020.

Doing this to every Camaro would put GM out of business...again!
