The recall is not with the ignition switch, it's with the key fob. We will get new keys/fobs, ones where the key is separate from the fob. I'm keeping my switchblade key fob!!!

Mine is staying as it is.

If I turn it off accidently while driving I am well aware of the restart procedures

Crap you would think that would be the 10's and 11's for accidental deployment while doing donuts

So the recall is to change the key, because bumping it might cause it to turn the car off?

Isn't that like... an inherit problem in... almost every vehicle? Like, sure, you can separate the fob from the key... but if your knee bumps the key itself, the issue still exists.

I'm keeping mine the way it is. Switchblade key makes me feel like I'm cool.

I am not interested in doing this unless they change it to a push button start system. I don't need a fob with a separate key in my pocket. I think we should all patition GM to come up with a better (more contemporary) fix. Maybe we should all send an email to Fbodfather to come up with a better fix.

IMHO, if your bouncing around wildly enough in the seat for your knee to hit the key hard enough to turn it and kill the engine.....you've got bigger problems, like a rollover!!!

I tried several times to even reach the fob. I got about 4" away from it. I think I am ok.
