ya im not gonna get a new key. no point in wasting my time. At no point has my knee even come remotely close to hitting it while I was driving my car. Unless your flailing around like an idiot or something there's really no possible way to accidently shut your car off while driving. GM is just making themselves look bad by issuing a recall for this.

Ridiculous recall...

What does everyone think of the, in my opinion, dumb recall on the 5th gens to switch out the keys to standard with a stand alone fob/transmitter?? Is this getting out of hand? Will you keep your original keys? Just putting it out there, not that we don't all know already...so far what I can read there is no defect in parts, there's just a chance a persons knee could turn the key back if they bumped it.....

3 accidents, 4 minor injuries...you make the call. It's not mandatory.

Or at the very least this!

maybe this replacement will come with a giant key ring with complimentary skeleton keys and some other keyring bling lol. oh, and maybe a belt clip lanyard retractible of course, until somebody gets tangled in it while driving then that'll be recalled. i think i'll take a laser cut screwdriver, no, that'll rip the seat if you got it in your back pocket. easy fix, no key, put Camaro start-chip in my wrist and i'll be good 2 go!

This is true, I'm not trying to be ignorant about it, just seeing what we all think....

I most certainly won't be going to that cheap chinese key and antiquated fob LOL!! My knee couldn't hit the fob while driving if I was wearing kiss platform boots.

Nope. I just put my key FOB on a separate ring, so now it'll be the only thing in my ignition. I'm not worried about it, and I want to keep my key original. You could potentially kick off the key in a ton of cars...
