mod up or trade up!!!!!!!!!!

Is it worth modding the V6 to get V8 power or would it make more sense to trade up to the V8 ??????? not sure what to do??

I'm going the IPF route as I have a 2LT with all the bells and whistles ....

Add to the fact that I have the SS Brembo's & soon to be the 1LE suspension I'm too far to turn around now. lol

It's up to you. If you have no mods and want a higher trim package then trade up.

If you love your ride and just want some more HP...start moding.

I mod up! But here's a good quote I read today

Perhaps it's not the car that changed his outlook, but rather his ability to love what he has and build upon it instead of always looking out for the next thing to be excited about. We have reason to believe that is what makes this car so great; no cost was spared in making it exactly what the owner wanted, because it was worth the investment to him.

But it's up to you, I love making my car my own and never worry about trading up

I stopped messing with my car and am planning on trading up in a year or so. It's not necessarily more cost efficient to keep spending money on mods opposed to trading up. In the long run trading up will cost more over time, but all your mods are paid for up front. Not sure about you guys but I don't have an extra 6k to drop on forced induction. Let's say your car is worth more than you owe, you'll get money towards your down payment for when you trade up. I did the math and with a little bit longer of a finance term, I'll be able to get an SS for about the same price as my monthly payment now with an extra 2 years of payments. Unless you truly like V6's over the V8, why not trade up? You can spend thousands on the V6 and an SS will still win.More power and if you're like me and love that exhaust tone, the answer is obvious ha.

I'm in the same boat , go FI or just upgrade the entire car ?

I decided to wait until the next gen is released and go for a 1SS 1LE RS if that combo is available then . I can wait a year , I still love the look of my car more than anything else , the added performance will just make it that much sweeter.

Put it this way ..... I had a 2011 1SS and now I have a 2013 2LT,,,,, I really enjoy my '13 2LT but it isn't a SS with a V-8 .... I am going to trade up within the next year or so, because you can't take the place of an 8 cylinder Camaro ....

Thanks.
Well if you add up only cat back exhaust,
High flow cats, tune, CAI, ported TB, you're looking at anywhere from 2,200 or so to 3k depending on which route you go part/ tune wise. I have every one of those mods and would still lose to an SS. Unless you want to run nitrous or go FI, chances are pretty slim. All that plus another 6k or so for a supercharger or turbo, you're looking at 8k+ for your mods (assuming you are doing it yourself and not paying a shop) when you can get an SS for less than 8k more. I do love my LT and I have nothing against the V6 seeing how I own one, I just think it's worth it more In the long run to trade up opposed to spending all that money on FI. Just my opinion.

Just been adding bolt ons and cosmetics to mine. Not looking to do anything big along the lines of FI. Depending on how the 6th gens look ill most likely look to trade up to the SS sometime after they come out.
