Don't take this wrong.....

If you can buy a $60,000 plus ride.... Insurance shouldn't be a issue.... if it is..... You should have done your home work first! What do you do about gas?

I will tell you that both the ZL1 and Corvette are both MUCH MUCH cheaper than the Shelby GT500. I could not believe the difference, as I was shopping all three when I chose the ZL1. The Shelby would have cost me another $1600/yr. with GEICO. As it is, as a 41 yr. old man with a 39 yr. old wife, we pay $780/6mo for both a 2013 ZL1 and a 2014 Toyota 4Runner. This is in the suburbs of DC, but we are both good drivers.

I don't think you will end up paying anymore than if you had an SUV.

Good luck.

Most people I know say I remind them of Luca. I am big guy, and I don't take no s&$t.

Good luck.

I pay about the same for both ZL1 and Jetta with Geico. Best deal I could get and have high coverage.

I love that movie, but I think I'm biased towards "Goodfellas" since I grew up near where they filmed all the scenes.

"What type of people are these? He's not Jewish, did you know how these people lived?". Classic stuff.

Anyway, OP, you will be pleasantly surprised at how reasonable insurance is on a ZL1. Actually I think it only went up $8/6months when I replaced my 2012 Mustang GT Premium Coupe with the ZL1. Shouldn't be much more than insuring an SS.

Surprisingly, my insurance went up only slightly when I went from a Camaro 2LT to a ZL1. I now pay ~$600 per year through AAA.

I'm with 21st Century who is now part of the Farmers Group. My 6 month premium is $512 with a $500 deductible for comprehensive and collision each. I have been with this company for a while and they have offered the best and lowest insurance premium. They customer service is very good too!

What you pay for insurance is variable depending on about 2,000 factors. So what people pay for insurance isn't relevant unless you live in the same general area and have the same coverage levels as someone else.

State Farm just jacked mine up. It's now about $680 per year for the convertible. Still higher than the 2010 SS coupe, which is now around $520 per year.

If you look at collector insurance for a DD, make sure it won't leave you high and dry. Not all collector car insurance companies have the same rules.
