I think what I'd want to display in the single gauge would be either RPM or MPH and coolant temperature, mounted at the base of the driver side A pillar. MPH may be the easier speed-related number to grab at a glance for practice and self-improvement purposes. Many years ago I mounted an aftermarket tach there rather than strapping it down on the steering column or up on the top of the dash where it would have interfered with forward visibility.

The S197 Mustang's big instruments are difficult to read under many sunlight conditions encountered on the track, and reading the little gauges buried down there between the big two is all but impossible. Edit - this should ring a bell with NFS GT350.

Oil pressure would be nice, but apparently that is not supported via the OBDII port.

For the second gauge in a 2-gauge setup I think I'd display MPH and RPM and put that gauge where the GoPro could record it.

Thanks for that! I might add -- and correct me if I'm wrong -- but I think the OM says to use 15w-50 for track usage, without regard to ambient temps...
