I doubt that. it's additional cost and labor that's not required

I'm anxiously awaiting to hear what happens here.

I dont know if everybody is joking but lets use some common sense.
we are not getting push button start
they are not going to replace the lock cylinders
They are not going to do this without your permission when you come in for a oil change.
This is a recall. They are going to do this a cheap as possible.
They are simply going to give us a regular key cut to our existing locks. this will have the same chip that is in our fobs now just like all the rest of there cars. They already have these keys and have been making them for years. They will give us a regular basic key fob like all the rest of there cars. They will ask you to bring in both keys and any keys you had made and they will exchange them. If you only have one key they will only give you one key and fob. When you leave the lot your old key will no longer work because they will reprogram the car for the new keys and fobs. If you want to keep your old key you will just have to reprogram to make it work just as if you bought a new key. Unless they change the program so it will not work with the old fob
its as simple as that.
This recall is simply GM trying to make themselves look better after the last BS recall. Or someones making a lot of money off these recalls.

next recall will be they're going to put the car in limp mode when you get to a quarter tank because if you run out of gas the car could stall and possibly cause a accident. then they will recall the windows because you could possibly get Your penis stuck in it while rolling them up.

I dunno. Maybe you will. Many never do. I'll be patiently waiting your response as to whether you take delivery. I'm anxiously waiting to see when I can take delivery of my own. If they hand you the switchblade key fob , someone either screwed up or back dated the invoices. If they hand you separate keys and fobs, you'll be the first I've heard of.

The halt sale is all about being used and insurance. They won't sell the cars because of the possibility of something to go wrong and being sued. They want to avoid media coverage of anything like that. Then their insurance can go up and for a company as big as GM i can imagine their premium is gynormous. I work construction, and everything done safety wise is to keep their insurance down and try to avoid lawsuits. They don't care about
