The last time I was pulled over 17 years ago. I had a Monte Carlo that I put a rock n roll license plate on the front that matched the car. I was on the interstate behind a semi, I punched it to get around him and as soon as I did there was the highway patrol. He pulls me over,says I could ticket you for 3 things...1st you aren't using a legal license plate on the front,but I can overlook that....2nd you were 7 mph over the limit and I can overlook that, 3rd you weren't wearing your seatbelt and I can't overlook that,so all I got was a seatbelt violation....his exact words were...if your going to be speeding, I want you too be a safer speeder. I have worn my seatbelt religiously ever since that day.

Been pulled over several times over the years for various things. Most legit, some kinda sketchy. Overall the officers were all very professional and fair, some let me go and others didn't. Only ever ran into one genuine jerk. Few of the incidents were pretty funny.

I bet of the 30-40 times I've been pulled over for speeding the last 30 years I've only gotten a ticket 25-30% of the time. You know the drill, pull ALL the way over as quickly as you can safely do so. Shut the vehicle off, stereo off, ALL windows down, sunglasses off and hands on the wheel. Don't talk except to greet the officer. Don't ask questions, the officer will ask you what he wants to know. Be pleasant and inject some light humor, you probably broke a law. Don't lie. That there should get you off at least half the time if you're only 5-20 over and not driving in an otherwise unsafe manner.

I still hate them! Cop ran a red light and almost hit me! And guess what he was doing, talking on his phone! It wasn't an emergency because he had time to pull me over and tell me that I should get a 500$ ticket.(for what?!) wish he would've hit me though...it was a CROWDY day in downtown Chicago and I would've had 100s of witnesses.
