I don't have a lot of keys, but my overall keychain is hefty...no problems so far.

Actually, I have hanging from my keys a Hot Wheels modified to fit on a keyring. A 2010 pre-production version, black.

6'4 and 270 (318lbs two months ago) and NEVER had an issue hitting the key in my Camaro. Have owned a Camaro since 2012. My knee is no where close to hitting it. I tried to hit it the other day and couldn't do it.

I tried hitting the key with my knee on purpose...

My knee hit the steering wheel before I could get anywhere near the FOB.

GM recall=FAIL

Key Recall ..... Update.....

Here's the latest and greatest..............

The recall will require separating the key from the fob
and replacing the key. The original key will be scrapped.

The customer can contact the dealer to have parts ordered
and once they arrive can have the recall performed. The
customer brings the car to the dealer with the car,
proof of ownership and both sets of keys. The fobs will
be reworked and the new keys programmed.

New vehicles will begin shipping from Oshawa on June 23rd
with the new key and fob.

Shh... They are talking of banning people who do not post in politically correct subforums.

To an extent, this is more relevant to Z/28's since our cars have already had a lot of delays, and this is probably going to be another.

Certainly fairly PO'd that Jay Leno will probably be driving a 2015 Z/28 before I get to drive my 2014. Such is life.

If someone had the foresight to leave 1 thread on the topic where people see it, then they probably would not have 100 threads to move.

If you end up bringing your car in for another, unrelated repair, will they just go ahead and change out your key without giving you a choice?

This is going to sound really silly, but what do the new keys and fobs look like? Do they actually look like a PROPER (sexy) key and fob, or are they some cheap-ass plain plastic key?

THAT is my question... exactly what I've been wondering. If so, you can bet that I will not be going in to the dealership for anything but the most unavoidable warranty work. I do NOT want the "solution" forced upon me.
