Want my NPP a little louder
I have a 1LE with NPP and already pulled the fuse but I still want it a little louder. Suggestions? Which headers work best? Anyone know of a shop in Cleveland, OH area for install? thanks.

A good upgrade is high flow cats; big jump in sound and at least 15-20hp. You really can feel it.
As for headers, depends if you want them US made or no. Top quality ARH, SW, KOOKS then oversea made and quality too; TSP, stainless power, etc. Go with 1 7/8 or 2". 2 " is what I have and the sound is crazy. I have high flow cats..with no cats it will smell but sound meaner.

ARH LTs+HFC into OE Catback w/NPP
Volume up, but most importantly, power +42/35 and throttle response much better (with VRam and tune). Best advice I took from this forum: start with headers then work your way back. Get the power first, then if you need it louder look at midpipes and then mufflers.

I'm debating the same thing. NPP sounds awesome but it'd be awesome a touch louder. Slippery slope that will inevitably end with me voiding the warranty.

Changing to high flow cats will void the warranty?

I too am worried about the warranty, but I just refuse to wait years and years to do some standard bolt-ons. So just this week I just received - ARH 1 7/8" headers, hiflow cats, CAI intake, Apex scoop, and water bottle. Also got an Apex Catch Can. That I installed last week. But the others I am waiting about another month or so since I only have 950 miles so far. Once I hit 1500+ miles, I'm changing my oil and doing all the other mods. Then heading to a tuner.
Back to the OP's statement, with the NPP and headers/hiflows - that should be a sweet sounding combo. I'm really looking forward to that beefier sound AND the extra 50whp or so I should get for the all my mods. |

Want my NPP a little louder
Remember that the dealership/GM would have to prove that the "particular mod" had to cause the damage. Technically just because you do bolt on mods does not mean your warranty is void. The consumer is protected by Magnusson-Moss Court Case.

Headers require a tune (=warranty issues), HF cats do not. The HF cats alone make a big difference in sound, especially with fuse pull.
