Can the 1LE use the Goodyears 305 in the back and 295 in the front ?
I haven't tracked the car yet, and with my busy work schedule probably not until September . But I want to give the car a more mean stance . Yet I understand this car has been built for track so I would like to know opinions here
Can use the Goodyears Eagle F1 Supercar 305 or maybe 315 in the back and 295 front ? Will under steer increase ? What other negatives things will I see if I go this route ? |

Hey Lio, yes i know you can go bigger in the back, i dont know about the front though. If you change the stock set up you will change the handling of the car
oversteer/understeer . If you're going to track it stay stock,if you're just wanting to change how it looks then have fun

The first time that I heard rocks and dirt tearing up my fenders, I replaced my wheels/tires. Also, knowing that I would never take my car to the track it was easy for me to decide on a Nitto Motivo set up. 275 up front, 315 in the back on some TSW Nurburgrings. I've traded warm weather grip for all year consistency. With the 315 in the back, there's far less wheel spin if I decide to put my foot through the floor in 1st gear as well.

I'd be willing to bet the 275s would be stretched too thin. The 315's might look ok. Check with your local tire guys. Discount up by me has them for $250~ each.

Just fyi,.. the front suspension creates and transmits quite a bit of heat to the body at the shock tower mounts. I wouldnt increase tire size in the front for this reason as already the stock tire and brakes work the springs quite alot.
(note to summit white owners,... you will know what I mean) |

I PUT 295'S UP FRONT AND 305'S IN THE REAR ON MY STOCK RIMS. I HAVE NITTO MOTIVO'S AND THEY WERE APPROX $1200 FOR THE SET. I REPLACED THEM SO I COULD DRIVE IN THE COLDER WEATHER ( NO SNOW) AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TIRES CRACKING.

IMHO I would stick to the stock size ,with the Goodyears or the MIch PSS tires. A lot of R&D was done on the 1LE ,and they got it right.

My replacement selection was based on all weather application, wheel style (very subjective) and wanting a wider appearance from the back. None of those reasons are in any particular order. |
