I don't know a whole lot about Green Lane except that I have been there a few times when they used to have the Irish-Scottish festivals. I was hoping that Dave would take the lead on this as he mentioned a few months ago. Properly organized, it could be a great day, but I fear we have run out of time to communicate this event properly so people could make the time in their schedules. I would think it would be great if we could meet somewhere to eat near the Lansdale or Quakertown exits of the Turnpike, if we can't pull off the Green Lane cruise/picnic. If anyone has any suggestions, please post for discussion/consideration by the group. These 2 exits make a good halfway meeting place for both meets, IMO.

I still think we can pull off a great day for everyone. We just need some ideas to chew on and then reach a consensus...

Someone has to pick a time and place to eat halfway from SS to Green Lane Park. That way we don't have to bother with bringing lunch. Let's get with it guys, time is running out.

Okay...since no one else is venturing any possibilities, I will put one out there for discussion, even though I'm not as knowledgeable about the area as some others...

My thought is that the Audubon group and the Steel Stacks group could meet for lunch at the following place:

Pizza Como & PC Pub
468 Pottstown Avenue
Pennsburg, PA 18073

I have eaten there a few times with my grandson and his family, and they have pretty decent food there. There is a huge parking lot there that they share with a Weis Market, which would allow ample parking for our cars away from everything. We could meet there around noon, and if one group gets there before the other, they can park and wait until the other arrives. The Audubon group would have the choice of cruising up Route 29, or the Turnpike and exit at Quakertown. The Steel Stacks group would exit the Turnpike at Quakertown and follow Route 663 west to the restaurant.

This is the only idea I can come up with because I don't know the area that well. If anyone else has a better idea, you won't be hurting my feelings. We do need to bring this matter to a close quickly so we can spread the word.

That sounds like a plan Kevin! We can leave SS for 11:00 and have plenty of time to get there!

I like the idea to! Even better if the NY and NJ groups join us! That will be awesome!

PC Pub is the best spot in Pennsburg so good choice Kevin! From there you can leave the parking lot head down 663 to any number of ways into Green Lane Park. I suggest Knight Rd. because there is a cool bridge that crosses the reservoir. You can take that to Rt. 29 then South on 29 to Hill Rd. and back into the park.

Just waiting for George to chime in if this will work for the Audubon group...

If not, I think the Steel Stacks group should consider doing it anyway...

Between our SEPA5 group, and the NJ and NY groups attending Steel Stacks, 5th gens should be represented VERY well this Sunday. Should be a great event.

Sean, I like your idea about a cruise afterward in Green Lane. Might be good spot for some photo ops...

I know Dave had been planning a route but I figured I'd throw a quick one out there just in case...

The above sounds good to me.

How about the Audubon crew leaves around 11:30. We head up Ridge Pike to Route 29N. At 663 we head South to Pizza Combo. That should place us there around 12:15. Lunch and then off for a ride through Green Lane.

Do I have that correctly?
