Considering aftermarket clutch (spec clutch?) ..pros and cons?
Hi,
i am considering an after market clutch for my 2011 V6 - Like this one : http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...ch-sc361-2.htm Whats the pro and cons to it? - It seems cheaper than the stock clutch, but i am not sure what the torque rating means. One of the article i read says that a higher torque means less transmission life. Is this true? - How is the durability/quality of aftermarket parts vs stock? can I expect similar or better performance in terms of lifetime? - What does the torque capacity/rating means in terms of actually driving the car? Will it, I dunno, be harder to shift if it has higher torque rating? ![]() - I read online that what i want is an organic clutch - as it is better for street driving. The link i provided for the spec clutch says its made out of kevlar with organic lining. I am now confused. Which is it, kevlar or organic? ![]() - Can i purchase the stock clutch anywhere but from the dealer? ![]() - Does anyone have a recommendation for a street driving clutch with long life? - I don't know anything about cars : can any mechanic shop replace a clutch? Is it similar in every car? Because every non dealer mechanic I've called in the area has never dealt with a camaro before... ![]() - Any suggestions for a shop in Toronto or surrounding area? Sorry, long list of questions - I am totally needing help
