Putting straits on a 2011 camaro 2ss

I have a question about putting strait pipes on a 2011 camaro 2ss. It's manual 6 speed of course with the LS3. My question is has anyone done this and had any tuning problems or power loss? Maybe even the car running rich? I haven't done it yet but wanted to do my research before doing it. I will be leaving the cats on though. Any input on it with or without cats? Does it need to be re tuned after doing it?

You have straight pipes on it now, besides a H pipe. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I'm trying to take off the mufflers and run it strait out with diffrent tips. May go up on size of pipe running out. I don't have it yet. I just want to make sure I won't have any issues if I do.

That's not straight pipes, that's called a muffler delete. LOTS of people on here have done it. Just search for muffler delete in this section or in google. Google will probably redirect you back here, lol. Several companies make a version of the muffler delete that comes with tips, or you can just have a muffler shop do it. There are no issues by going without mufflers, other than a lot of sound. Some like it, some don't. Personally, it's not for me. There is no performance benefit by going without mufflers and no tune is needed. The OEM exhaust flows extremely well, it's just too quiet.

From what i've seen posted, it's not too bad at idle and cruise but is quite loud when you get on it. It will induce drone, no matter what anyone says. The OEM mufflers have j pipes in them that are there for that very reason. Once you take them out, the drone comes back. That's not a issue for some, but is for others. Look in the sticky section. I'm sure you'll see a thread that has what you're looking for in it.

Drone is a frequency in the exhaust in which the car will vibrate a little and there will be a constant tone inside the car. When it's in the 1700-2000 rpm range (cruising), it can wear on you. Not usually an issue driving around town, but get on the highway and it can become unbearable after an hour or so.

Straight pipe is terminology when you are replacing the cats with a striaght pipe. Muffler delete is when you are replacing the Muffler with a straight pipe.

Will be loud and will drone, other than that it will be awesome!

Car will be extremely loud! Drone will be very loud! Depends if you like that or not, if cops in your area will care, if your neighbors will hate you every morning and night you start it up, if you have passengers you like to carry on conversations with..things like that. Why not just add cutouts and be able to choose when the car is normal or killer? Regardless what you do..I highly recommend a set of long tube headers to make the car sound a lot more of a muscle car.

The term straight pipes means you are running exhaust from the manifold/header straight through exhaust pipes only with no other restrictions. No cats, no resonators, no mufflers. I am running this setup right now with longtube headers and it's not that bad. It's very loud at wide open throttle, but it's not obnoxious at a cruise or idle. If you remove the cats, you won't "require" a tune to drive it, but a tune is recommended because it will throw a check engine light, which can only be removed by tuning. Plus it will get you a few more horsepower. I actually have a similar setup I'm selling that will give you a great sound and more HP. I'll PM you the details.

I have a muffler delete on my car (was actually like that when I got it). It's actually not terribly loud at all and sounds quite good.
