I think GM could have done this package for about $11,500 and that would be including polished 20 inch rims.. If GM took the base model $22,000 LS and thru on top of that $10,000 worth of this paint job, $1,500 in rims... $33,500 is not so bad a price for an almost exact bumblebee replica with a V6 ofcourse.. However the V6 front bumper does look more like Bumblebee's from the first movie..

Car looks awesome
I prefer the T1 look to T2 - far cleaner

As many have said - that color should have been premium option - car simply looks amazing

Thanks everyone for the positive reviews!

I installed the camaro side emblems today. The car is 99% done. We still have to wet sand and polish the SHOW APPEARANCE clear coat.
I think that's what the painter (Gary) called it. I can't imagine it any shinnier but, he said it will help.
The engine cover will be painted HOUSE OF KOLORS Sunrise as well.

I wanted the look of the original Bumblebee but, I had to have the 2SS model.
The headrests, smoked emblems and lights and the exhaust were just extras that I wanted and of course had nothing to do with the movie car.
The tips were bought from a local auto parts dealer and a buddy bent up the pipes.
I just thought it would look cool. "A little bit but not too much"

It depends on which camera and camera setting we use because the paint changes colour
every time the sun or lack of sun hits it.
You can drive by the car and watch it change colours from the reflection of the sun. Pretty cool!

The paint and body shop supplies cost almost $4000. The labour involved would probably cost another $5000 - $10,000 easily.
It was a lot of work to spray gold over every yellow spot on the car. I think we got most of it.

Here's a pic of the car with the Mustang
"I'm going cruisin"

Turn that mustang into the decepticon

Very well done!

Looks great and what a fantastic color, especially when put side by side with the original yellow.
Good job.

Can we get a better view of the gills cut out. I'm trying to figure out what exactly you did there. Did you just cut them out, or did you mount some sort of mesh in there?

Scott, Fbodfather had said the reason it is not a paint used by GM is it would cost about $10,000 for them to do it and slow down the paint lines at the factory. In order to accomplish this, the car would have to be painted white from factory and then separated and painted by hand which could take weeks. The labor would be around $5,000 per vehicle hence the cost I came up with..

If Gm could figure out a way to paint it quickly enough at factory and lower the costs, even better.. However highly unlikely unless its the same process as painting IOM and RJT which we know it is not.

The paint shop really nailed the color! Come on GM, do Bumblebee some justice!
