On June 26th the Detroit 5th Gen Camaro Club met up at a rest stop just south of Clio Michigan and camarovaned north up I-75 heading to the 39th annual St. Ignace car show on June 28th. There was a total of 16 Camaro’s and one chase vehicle (28 people) traveled together to our lunch stop at the Swamp II bar and grill, in Frederic, Michigan.

At the lunch location 3 more Camaro’s (5 people) joined our group for lunch at the Swamp II. After a couple hour stop and some gas the group was on the road again heading north along old 27 to Gaylord where we got back on I-75 to continue our drive to the Mackinaw Bridge.

Upon arriving into St. Ignace the group went to the registration location for the upcoming car show. After all the show logistics were handled it was off to the Hotel to check in and clean up for dinner. It was at the Hotel where we met up with another new member joining our club. This brought the total for the evening to 20 Camaro’s and 34 people. Later that evening it was time to gather in the parking lot and have some drinks and social time.

After a 30 minute photo shoot it was off to the Tahquamenon Falls. We visited both the lower falls first, and then traveled over to the upper falls for lunch at the Brewery and take in the sights. This was a great cruise as many of us elected to travel together along some scenic routes.

After a couple hours for lunch and site seeing of the falls, it was time to get on the road again and get back to the Hotel to clean up both the Camaro’s and ourselves, as we were heading into St. Ignace for the Parade that would take place later that evening. Our club was the Feature Club for the show and was treated to many VIP privileges, including the opportunity to lead the parade behind the special guest Al Oppenheiser.

The next morning it was an early start (6:30 am) to get lined up at the center of town for the car show. Fantastic weather for a car show as we spent the entire day in the sun along the water enjoying the car show with many nice looking rides.
