Talking Key Re-call

Just because some drivers have a problem keeping their knees down we all have to suffer. Umm no I am keeping my "Switch Blade" type key. Its fun to play with LOL. I contacted Chevy and the Chat operator told me that under certain situations the drivers knees hit the key and can turn the car off. I asked what kind of situations and she said driving off road LMAO Off road in a Camaro

If GM has determined that this is a safety issue, they need to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the problem isn't really the size of the fob sticking out of the ignition, nor the proximity of certain drivers knees to aformentioned fob.

The true problem is the ability of the key/fob to rotate with too low an amount of input torque. The TRUE fix is in the ignition itself, the shortening of the fob by separating it from the key is a stop-gap attempt at a solution, and will probably result in the issue continuing to occur after the recall.

Just my $0.02

They are just doing a recall on every small thing to avoid future lawsuits...

The recall was not for the Camaro keyfob issue, it is partially the ignition cylinder issue with other issues besides....

The recall is being fixed with a piece of duct tape and a black marker and you write the correct flavor on it. But the duct tape falls off in the freezer causing an allergic reaction to duct tape adhesive.

Myself and my family have owned so many GM's and never have any issues. I just don't see this being by chance. Some of the GM complaint stories I hear from internet assclowns just make me beleive so much of it is user error, not saying that is the case with you, but I dont understand why people bitch and complain on forums. Go do something about it. LIke call GM customer service.
Calling customer service of any company even near the size of GM is useless. You might as well tell your problems to your dog. At least he'll lick your nose, which is way more than GM customer service will ever do for you.
