bolting an axleback to an aftermarket catback?

I have a cherrybomb extreme series catback system.

Would it be possible to install an SLP LM1 or Pypes Pype Bomb axleback in place of the the cherrybomb mufflers? The pipes look to follow the same route as stock. Has anyone ever sone something like this? I do not want to purchase a whole new catback, just want to do a muffler swap pretty much. I know the Pypes will have no popping and no drone.

I don't think changing your axle back is going to make the popping go away, it might just muffle it better.

when I had my GTO I had flowmaster 40's on there with lots of pop, switched to the straight through SLP LM1's and the pop went away. so you think that the mufflers are NOT the culprit for drone and pop?

They will probably help with drone, some mufflers do just drone more.

I think the pop/gurgle will still be there, but different mufflers may do better at muffling it.

I can say my Flowmasters do pop a lot, and it's pretty loud now especially with long tubes. I've thought about swapping them out for something else.

I don't think it will go away completely though. My flowmasters actually didn't drone at all with the stock manifolds/cats. They do now with the headers though.
