Wow this thread is scary when you see folks posting up payments over $1,000 a month for 70+ months for a Camaro. I love the ZL1 and really want an automatic but that kind of payment is never going to happen on my budget.

I really can't see the sense in spending cash on a car purchase with interest rates less than 2.5% out there. I would rather have my 60 grand make money for me than cost.

I went looking today also, sine i paid my 07 yukon Xl off, i took my 2000 WS6 car shopping today, all the sales persons forgot i was there looking to buy , and started checking it out, make me feel good that a 13 yr old 40,100 mile car still turns heads. all the Zl1 around here are going for 58-63 , i really dont want to get back into another car payment again, but i really want one.....

Unless you can't get 0% financing, what exactly is the point of paying cash? And if you got 55k in your savings that you can just buy a car with I really doubt your credit is that bad that you can't get 0%.

Even with a shitty sub 1% interest rate on savings accounts you can make more money that way than just dumping 55k on the spot.

Hell smart investing of that cash over 6 years will net you even more.
the reason i paid cash is because I was raised that if you cant afford to pay cash for a toy you dont need it,period...I MYSELF CONSIDER MY ZL1 NOTHING MORE THAN A TOY PERIOD...I save going to a bank for something I need in life,I owe nothing to anyone or anything...this whole thread really is just plus i never planned on keeping it for more than a yr maybe !!!

If that works for you so be it but nothing is about someone paying a note on a ZL1 or Toy as you call it.

I was raised that you never invest large amounts of cash in a depreciating investment. Apparently you were not raised that way and were told it's ok to invest in something that loses value.

Some people have the cash to pay for it in full but choose to take 0% APR payments while investing the rest of the money and earning back interest.

Why would I just give 60k to GM on the spot when I can give them 1k each month for 60 months and actually invest that money somewhere that makes me more money?
