Yes. Weighs way too much, even for the V8s.

Challenger weight is pretty much the same as the Camaro.

Depends on the comparing which trim to which. If you say challenger and camaro. That could go anywhere form a fully loaded STR8 to a manual ls V6 which is QUITE a weight difference. I dont undertand why the RT owners are getting such dramatic "certified" weight differences. Seen from 4140 with no pass and a 1/4th tank of gas to 3800... Whats up with that?

And for the V6 challenger. While it doesnt hold up to the V6 Camaro perfomance wise.. IT does have a lil pep in it only after you get like past 30 mph. Its a very nice car

Found this over on Edmunds.com

"It put down 350 lb-ft and 335 hp to the wheels, exhibiting the kind of torque curve characteristic you'd expect from a big-cube 2-valve engine--plenty of torque down low and through the midrange, with a steady roll-off as you approach its modest 5850-rpm rev limit."

Also, some stock R/T results here...

No idea. Seems like no matter how you look at it, the difference in weight between the Camaro and the Challenger is no more than the weight of a passenger or a tank of gas. The Safercar.gov site that did the crash tests actually has the Challenger 20 pounds lighter than the Camaro.

I have the V6 Challenger. The problem is the 4 speed auto which doesn't have much in first gear. Really takes off from about the 15-20mph range...and yes, it is a very nice car.

Aren't the v6's different weights than the V8's though?

What's a Challenger?

Went to a car show this past Saturday, when the trophys were handed out
guess what, some guy with an 08 orange srt gets one.
Kind of dumb there were many cars there that the owners put
thousands of dollars and countless hours of time in to restore,
and some shmuck puts out 40 plus for a completely stock mopar
and gets the gold, not to mention all the late model Mustangs
and Vettes that were there.
From now on I will only go to shows year 1984 and below

Reminds me of the Simpsons when Ralph Wiggum got first prize for his diaroma which was simply Star Wars figures still in the original packaging.

An '08 SRT is fairly rare, but still...I never understood why they would give a trophy/ribbon/etc... to a completely stock car, regardless of whether it's a Camaro, Challenger or Mustang.
