I just bought a newly designed clip that replaces the factory one. I haven't installed it yet but it supposed to fix the problem. I got it from JRE.

I was in JRE's shop when I bought it, I don't see it on their website. It has a GM part# 11611258. You can try looking up the number or call JRE and they can get you one.

had same issue, I drilled a super small hole where it goes up under rubber strip and put in a small screw, it will surely give way if air bag deploys, sice the screw is so small and is drilled so close to the edge of the pillar...

Simple fix! Get a new retainer clip. 2010 had older style clip the would only work one or two times. Newer version is much better.

also, I took down the pod 6 months after installing and I noticed it was starting to slightly warp ..I believe with the weight of the pods and thinness of material, it will warp over time..imo

Maybe that's why I am not having a problem..

Yes a GM part. I believe the 2010 style has been replaced with newer style. I have had my dual guage pod now on and off about a dozen times with no issues after installing new clip.

So its just the piece that slides into the pod in the middle and into the hook that is allowing the top to pop out? Not sure how that works but hell, at this point I'll try just about anything to keep the damn thing in place.
