I hate state farm. when I bought my V6 camaro I paid 250 a month for full coverage I had no tickets. I left them because military just dont have that kind of money. USAA now for 2 years same coverage less than 100 dollars a month. adding my wife to my policy same coverage on her car only added 300 to my premium

Insurance Cost?
Hello everyone, I had a question. My apologizes if this is the wrong place to post this question. I was wondering how bad the insurance would be for a 2010 Camaro Convertible with a V8? If it comes out in the year 2010 I will be 24 years old, no accidents. Estimates? Thanks for your time.

My guess is you could go to some of the insurance websites and price the insurance of the current Mustang and that might give you a rough estimate.

I agree, that's probably as fair as we can get until it gets crash-tested and gets it's official ratings.

$1,318.67. If you get caught speeding double it.
Honestly I have no clue. You can assured of this though. A v8 will be more than a v6 and a convert will be more than a coupe. Also, I don't think insurance rates drop until you turn 25. Last edited by z28camaro2471; 06-13-2008 at 12:21 AM. Reason: Duh |

Mustang Cobra from 2002 and Camaro SS from 2002, Camaro had a lower insurance rate. I'm getting the v8 vert that is in my sig. Insurance should be about the same as the mustang GT + or - a few hundred. As said above, it really just depends on the ratings and how insurance companies choose to classify the car.

Yeah, 25 is the big drop in insurance so you are gonna pay quite a bit for about a year.

Yea I knew my age, and my preferred configuration would drive up the cost of the vehicle. I tried finding a quote on a similarly equipped 08 GT Mustang but I have to send them my information and I just wanted to get an idea, I didn't want to sign up for insurance. My saving grace is that insurance is fairly cheap up where I am, my father has an older and newer vehicle but only pays $1200 a year.
I can handle high payments for maybe a year, but more than that would be too much. Mindz, love that Convertible Camaro in your signature. Looks like what I want but in a different color (Check my avatar). Thanks for responding everyone, if anyone is in my age group with a similar vehicle I would love to hear from you. Chris |

I've done free online quotes, it takes a few min to fill in all the stuff but it gives you an idea. Just remember to adjust your age to when you are buying your car.

I would be willing to try it, but I am afraid they will hound me if I give them my information.

The Camaro is going to be a lot more powerful than a similarly equipped Mustang, right? That ought to drive up the insurance cost. I hope not too much, else that's another thing that would price me out of a Camaro. Damn, my ability to afford a Camaro is tenuous at best...
