haha...one guy took his math as being 29,000 for the car + 40,000 in mods equating to 69,000...he was correcting him
either way, i think it's been stated already that buying an older car, then adding mods to compete with a stock new car is well....just dumb. in this case we can just refer him to earlier posts in this thread where ppl said they'd take an SS and add this or that and the gt500 guys cried foul. you can't come on here 10 posts later and use the same foul example |

True but I didn't buy an older car.
My car is an 06 that when I bought it had 3 miles on it, bought right off the showroom floor. |

again tho, comparing a cheaper car w/mods to a more expensive car falls along the same lines as modding an ss to compete with a gt500 for cheaper. i'm assuming that when you gave your price point of 2k more than a camaro, you were comparing comparably equipped vehicles, correct? you weren't comparing a loaded camaro to a non-optioned mustang were you? i'll be honest in the fact that i don't know how much 2006 mustangs were going for with options and such as i never looked into it. with that being said, i did build a 2010 mustang recently that compared to a 2ss in options and the price came to roughly 1k less than my camaro(so roughly 33-34k vs. 35k). i'm not bad mouthing the mustang, but the "if you do this, then i'll do this argument" has been called out already in this thread |

Which can bring the argument that we are comparing a near 6 old platform to a brand new current one in the Camaro !
In truth the the 4.6 will be old news, but can still pack a punch with the right things added. My 08 is not truly old, and every time I go to the Ford dealership, I see nothing there I would trade it for....now. Of course my dealership fails at getting GT500 (2010)'s...They keep shipping them off to S.America and Europe... |

I should be hitting the local 1/4 mile track on Friday with my LPE-570 to see what kind of numbers it can run on stock tires. Weather permitting on Friday - hopefully it is not humid as hell. I can tell you that it seems to hook up pretty good but I will have to see on the strip. I have 1200 miles on it right now. With the price of my car and this package, it is less than 50K.
