Apex/Pfadt springs

After having my beloved ZL1 for about 7 months or so (only 2 months in my actual possession) was enough time to think it could use a more aggressive look. I looked at a few threads here and there, read a few reviews, talked to they guy who I would have do the work and came to the decision to instal a set of the new Apex (previously Pfadt) 1.25" springs. I cannot say enough good things about these. The look is perfect to me, not low enough to get into too much trouble and I personally think the ride quality is better than before. I drive the car daily (when I'm home and weather permitting) and i honestly don't think I could have made a better choice. I have had no rubbing issues, no vibrations, no clearance issues with the splitter or anything. I live in western NC so it's definitely not the flattest area to be in and there are some somewhat steep entrances to certain areas. That being said, I am very cautious about how I pull into places. I know this isn't very in depth but I don't claim to be an expert car guy either, just hoping this could help someone who may be in marker for a great set of springs. As you can tell, I had these beastly calipers powder coated as well. Please excuse the not so great phone pictures.

Love the new stance. Looks really good. Seriously considering the Apex/Pfadt springs as my next mod. Only reservation is clearance and your comments have helped address that reservation.

I run BMR 1.4" drop springs. I love them. So similar to stock ride, but when put in PTM 4 or 5 they are extremely stiff for the track and strip. But in normal sport mode they are perfect. I daily drive mine in spring summer early fall as well.

The only clearance issue I have had is putting the car into the building/garage. I contract in Afg so I'm gone 3 months at a time and there is no way I'm leaving the car outside for that long so I bought one of those "Amish made buildings" to put it in so it has a fairly steep ramp to pull onto. No problems with speed bumps or anything like that though. I didn't take any measurements so I can't give numbers but I think you will be fine.

I looked at your car so many times when I was trying to decide on which springs to go with and your stance is amazing! I think it would have been a little much for me and the back country roads and steep driveways where I live though. I put about 2500 miles on mine in the 3 weeks I had the car after getting the springs installed and I freaking love them. It is stiff in PTM 4 and 5 but I actually like that feeling, it feels more responsive to me but that could all be in my head as well.

this thing looks great. I went the same direction but with the eibachs. These cars really need to have some color behind those black wheels. Your car looks great btw

Try getting the 1.0" drop all the way around from BMR, or you could even offset with 1.0" and 1.4" setup from them as well. I live about an hour south of Chicago, and I have no problems clearing train tracks and some bigger bumps from cheap pothole fixes.

Thank you very much. I dig the more aggressive alignment that comes suggested with the springs as well. Great product and I do plan on slowly adding some of the things you guys are bringing back.

The shop that I had do the powder coating has them. I know he has a few different combinations of colors. I had them done at S.L. Customs in Mooresville so you can give them a call and talk to Kyle. I'm sure he can point you in the right direction if you are in the market for some.

I appreciate the feedback and I do agree that they look great at stock height but I wanted a little more. The calipers are the same color code as the CTS-V and in my opinion, it should have been an option from GM but oh well.

I understand we are all different in regards to how our ZL1's look in person. Some don't have the funds to spend on lowering a Camaro. Others get the "Hell no" from the wife! The second mod I performed after a Roto-Fab was installing different springs, sway bars and bushings! My opinion is the ZL1 when lowered improves the looks, (sportier and more aggressive stance) and improved corner speed. The OP's car looks great lowered.
