I mean, everyone on the internet does all the proper background research in a subject, learning all the ins and outs before coming to a carefully thought-out conclusion backed up by ironclad logic & support. Nobody would just go and post something like, I don't know "its a TRUCK, it needs a TRUCK engine!" as premise, evidence, and conclusion and expect a multinational billion dollar corporation that has tens of thousands of employees and over 100 years of experience building vehicles to take them seriously ... would they? Because that would be craaaaaazy.
fair enough...seing throught the sarcasm, you don't think that GM especially pays attention to the internet, forums, or their would be customers. No, we are not engineers, we don't have to be, we are the consumers and we should be able to have some input with these type of things...aka manual and auto ZL1/1LE ring a bell? I for one am getting pretty tired of the "powers that be" telling me what kind of car/truck I should drive and how many MPG's I should get with it, if I want a Colorado extended cab with a V6 and a 6spd manual I would not be the only one and I should be able to have that choice. I know that car manufacturers build for the masses and I get that, but most of the masses only know what they want because they have been told what they want.

Isn't this truck going on sale in September or something like that?

Could we finally see MPG ratings in August?

No automatic option for 1LE.

Here's the issue. You say you want an LFX/6 speed manual, you say you're not the only one. And I have no doubt that that's true. However if only you and a handful of people will actually buy that build combination then it makes zero sense for GM to burn the engineering dollars to certify it and even less sense for GM to build those trucks just to have them rot on dealer lots for months and eventually get sold under invoice to a fleet company.

We can talk about giving the consumer choices all day long but more often than not, the number of people who will actually go out and put their money where their mouth is is not as big as you think. It's like the whole Pontiac G8 deal, people clamored for GM to bring Commodore stateside, promising they'd be first in line at the dealer. When G8 finally made it over, enthusiasts bought theirs in the first few months and then sales started to dwindle out, and surprise surprise, a lot of folks who promised they'd buy one never did.

I was about to post this in Fen's big GM thread but figured this one is probably better ...

Meanwhile, The General has yet to confirm, hint or announce anything official to bring some sort of hardcore off-roading Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra. And it seems that will stay that way, for the foreseeable future.

However, the same cannot be said for the upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Because according to sources, it seems that the new line of mid-size pickups is on track to offer an aggressive off-road variant equal to that of the Ford Raptor, but in a smaller (read: lighter) package. A low weight is one of the most important elements of a proper off-road vehicle, and General Motors opting to convert its most lithe of current/future truck offerings into a dune-running, rock-climbing, hill-descending successor to the Hummer H3T is a decision we can get behind. Perhaps it will resemble something akin to the global Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept, pictured above. As far as naming goes, it’s not clear what designation General Motors will give the Colorado and/or Canyon off-roaders, but the popular ZR2 name could make a comeback.
Sounds like its mostly just rumour & should probably be taken with a grain of salt but still ... Colorado based Raptor fighter? :woot:

Sign me up. Or maybe for the SS Sport truck version. Too much potential with this truck!

Mmm. Colorado Rally.

Mostly concept dreams, but still cool. Even if half of this stuff could make production.
