And as you can see I almost really screwed up drilling the tap hole. Was oh so close to being in trouble.

Stuffed paper towels, a rag and had magnets all the way around that little area to catch all the metal. hahaha

Now I need to find a valve cover bolt. I'll prolly have to buy a freaking set.

The bolt is bleeding. Look how I drilled the hole to tap it crooked. and it got paper thin close to the side. I'd have had to go have it done if I didn't get it out.

I'm really an idiot for breaking that bolt. If you break a VALVE COVER bolt, maybe you have no business doing an LS install.

I got it all laid out ready to begin this weekend.

They're not aluminum?
You can find them aftermarket and it'll give you length and thread sizes usually, then just find one by itself.
though it'll probably be so expensive by itself it'll be easier to get the set... lol

The bolts are not aluminum.

I may be able to get one from a dealer. I can't imagine that they'd cost too much if I do have to buy a set.

Looking good Randy, I'm still following the progress.
Got time to polish the thermostat housing?

Whoa..... that's purdy.

I thought about it but since this is a daily driver and will get plenty dirty with pretty much a hose washing from time to time it would only get dull again. I was going to paint it black but liked the natural color. Is it hard to polish?

It's not hard, I put about 5 hours into that one.
