Trim Shops
My second 2012 Convertible is now wearing a hole in the top and every dealership I have contacted or went to subs them out to a trim shop. My question is, how can GM allow warranty work to be done by shops that are not GM certified? It would be like me cutting your hair. Also with my first car I noticed that the trim shop billed for example $1000 for work done while the dealership was reimbursed by GM for $1500 for no work performed. Legal? Ethical? Something seems fishy. Thoughts?

I had my top replaced by a local shop. This was the 4th Camaro top that they had done. I was much happier they did it than the dealership. This would have been their first and I know it would not have been right. The local trim shop did a very good job. Of course, I was the one who found them. The dealership had been jerking me around since last fall.
