I will visit Capitol Chevy and explain my situation. Maybe I will find a deal there after all. Thanks

I wonder if this is a device that transmits on what is known as the Y band?

Yes, I learned that the hard way. By the way, I am a she.

I will look into it for the next Camaro. I didn't have it on this last one.

Lojack is not that foolproof.

First, it does not know the car has moved. You need to call in to Lojack to start a stolen car report, and Lojack then activates the device. Local police have (hopefully) a receiver in tier car that can track the stolen vehicle with the Lojack transmitter in it...it does NOT use GPS to display where the car is. You are totally dependent on the police with a receiver in their car to find your car.

If you left your car for a couple of hours, and then found out it was taken, that's enough time for your car to be taken and delivered to a chop shop.

I was involved with a GPS tracking product that notified you as soon as it's internal GPS sensed the car moved without the ignition on by sending a text message to your cell phone. You called the tracking center, filed a quick theft report while the center was tracking your car. they called police and told them where you car was heading or where it had stopped.

There are a couple of aftermarket products that will do this...check them out.

Rotten feeling to have something you cherish stolen. It's happened to me a couple of times. I can think of several ways to prevent it but none of them are legal.
