I was told the SS was cheaper to insure than the V6.
I'm like $800ish a year at 27yrs old, full coverage, limited tort, 300/500/300, and dirt cheap deductibles. State Farm. Bundled with my DD, my fiance's car, and our house.

I have no tickets, 24 years old, clean driving record, and I pay about $120 a month. Should go down significantly within a year or two. Switch to Geico - it beats all the other companies for under 25 drivers, in my experience. |

The only factor that would change in your case is the value of the vehicle. This shouldn't increase your insurance by more than 10-20% depending on your levels of coverage in the bolded above. You could even potentially see your insurance rate stay the same or go lower by getting yourself into a brand new car. There are often discounts for owning new rather than used, having better safety features, or various other reasons. As other people suggested, call up your insurance agent and provide the exact VIN of a car (or similar car) that you're looking at and they can quote you on the spot. Again, the only thing you'll be changing about your policy is the value of the insured vehicle. It has nothing to do with engine size or trim level, just dollar value as a cost to replace. |

My insurance here in Illinois is $580/year with a $1,000 deductible for a 2014 SS. The SS made no real difference and the insurance is the same as my truck.
To everyone that are paying huge amounts for the SS, all I can say is shop around. I used to have a 3000gt and one company considered that a high risk sports car and wanted to charge me $1,500/year while my current company said it made no difference and charged me $400/year |

When I had my genesis coupe at 22, I was paying $145/mo. I got the Camaro at 24 and 10 months (prior to the 25yr old drop), and i was like $110/mo. I would check into how they are killing you.

Also, I earn a speeding ticket about once every four years for driving 20 over on the interstate.
Hope that helps |

I pay about $150/mo. for the SS, the Wife's Outback and a $1M umbrella policy that covers any both cars in case someone sues us due to a huge booboo ... with State Farm. Their rates just went up recently due to changes in insurance laws; but should come down soon ... If they don't, I'm jumping ship and going back to Progressive who's quote without the umbrella policy was a bit more than $100/mo.

I pay $305 a month for full coverage, $500 deductible from Progressive for my 2010 manual SS. It's high but I'm 20, female, and don't have a perfect driving record. $305 is actually my discounted rate (I did their snapshot program and got the maximum 30% discount), every other insurance company I've gotten a quote from has quoted me at $720-$780 per month.
