2014 1LS.....Super Close To Buying One.

Hey guys, last time I was on this site was March of 2008 so basically a billion years ago. However, I am finally on the verge of pulling the trigger and buying my first new Camaro! I've been to a couple of dealers and they all seem to just have the rebates and promotions bring the car down to the same price overall which is 20k with change. Not bad at all for a 24k car. But it's so hard finding a 1LS because its a manual and dealers can't seem to sell them. One dealer has a black one but they said they can get me a white one which is what I wanted, but I'm torn between the two colors now lol. I'm a very indecisive person. Do you guys think it would be easier to get a little bit more off the price with the black one because the dealer has it right now? I was thinking having them take the dealer fee off and add tinted windows.

Not the same car but my girl recently had the same decision with her new Q50. It was between malbec black and white, I told her to get white so of course she went black. And she regrets it everyday now, a black car is VERY high maintenance. It shows everything, it looks great when clean but that last all of 10 minutes lol.

My Kia Soul right now is black and I understand the maintenance factor, especially when the color is already fading by the windshield pillars. It sucks Also my Dad has a 2010 SS in black, so I thought white would be different and be easier to clean. Also, I love the way the Z/28 looks in white with black accents and wheels. I thought it would be cool to try to replicate that look.

A few white ones online within a couple of hours of you..if you are hung up on white.......why not talk to a dealer stuck with a white one, work them down and eliminate the $middleman$?

Black is a beautiful color but it will become an obsession and fulltime job keeping it clean.

Kind of a hassle to drive hours away to a dealer that may play games, and time can be hard to make. But I appreciate the insight very much. Apparently there are only 2 white 1LS in all of Florida and Georgia according to their system. The ones that are still up have been sold already. The first one is grey cloth interior with grey stripes which is ok since I can remove the stripes and started to like that interior color but then he called me last minute to tell me they found one with black stripes and black interior at the same dealer so I told them to drive that one down to me. They said I won't have to pay for the stripes since I didn't want them so it's cool.

Thanks everyone who responded! I should get it on Monday hopefully!!

This. But, I love my black 2012, I don't regret it.

IMO, I think the 5th Gens prior to the refresh look best in black, while the refresh looks best in white.

Great !

Sounds like the dealer you are working with will take good care of you.

Make sure the car has the $150.00 jack/spare tire kit instead of the inflator can setup. I had a sidewall flat 3000 miles into the car. Thank goodness there was something in the trunk besides goop and a compressor.

The light interior (especially the rug) is a tough one to keep clean. I passed on a great priced light grey interiored '13 because of the dirt factor.

The black cloth and carpeting - much easier to maintain. Good call.

It's true! I had to quit my job just to keep on top of keeping my black Camaro clean!

Kidding, but only just. When clean and well done though, Black is amazing.

So, after all that, he called me on Friday to tell me that the dealer they are getting the car from that said it was black stripes are now blue stripes lol. The madness won't end. I had to confirm to bring it down, but I was waiting for him to call again to tell me "You know how we said it has blue stripes? Well now the whole car green" I was able to look at it yesterday (by snooping around the dealer since they didn't know what it was since the dealer guy wasn't there), and I have to say the white with blue stripes looks quite good on the car. These stripes go all the way down the front to the roof to the rear. Gives the car character. I had the Z/28 look in my mind the whole time but I might have to change that. We will see

Thanks all for the help everyone!, I'll post pictures if you guys want later today since I get to bring her home this afternoon. (In another thread and area?)

And I didn't want to quit my job for the black Great advice.
