I was over looking my ZL1 and something looks off, is the shock towers suppose to be this far from the body?

Just because it is common doesn't mean it's normal. I would venture to bet you have a collapsed strut mount.

That is normal.
You can have someone sit in the car and turn the wheels back and forth and they will move.
So no worries.

Yeah, maybe the Camaro is different than the G8 based on the same platform. I'm sure you are right, it's fine. http://www.g8board.com/forums/showpo...5&postcount=19

I could see that being the problem if one side looked like that and one side was down flush. That may be the case on a G8. On my ZL1 both sides look just exactly like the OP's pics and they have since the day I got the car. I thought it looked a little crappy when I first noticed it also but at this point I'm kind of used to it. I have looked into getting camber plates to change the way that looked but all of the camber plates I have seen to date require you to dispose of the magride front shocks and I love the magride more than I hate that little gap. May be problem on some other make. ZL1 it is normal.
