ZL1 vs Hellcat

http://youtu.be/TzSABrT0CoI

Pretty interesting race. 1/8 of a mile. Not sure if that was a stock ZL1 or not. The Hellcat won with an unimpressive 8.6 sec, not by much.

Someone mentioned the best the Hellcat ran that day was an 8.343 sec. A modded GT500, who posted this link in another forum, said he was running 8.1-8.3.

All really awesome cars.

Im guessing the 1/8 mile did not allow the Hellcat or GT500 to really utilize their horsepower at higher rpms. An 8.1 is a high 12 eta.

10 sec car on Drag radials. 9 sec car with Slicks and a gear change.

The stock tires on the Hellcats are like 275/40s and I don't think they are anything good like the F1:G2s or Super Sports.

If they supposedly put so much technology into this car how does something important as tires/traction get overlooked? I don't understand.

Ford did it with the GT 500...they should have put rear 305s on that car at least! Its a joke what dodge put on there.

It's gonna be a bad a$$ car with slicks and skinnys. I would rather build my own then buy one though.

Good luck on finding some slicks or skinnys that would fit over the 15.4 inch front rotors and 14.2 inch rear rotors. The SRT employee that ran the 10.8 on DR mentioned that it is impossible to fit anything less than 19 inch rims on the Hellcat. and that 19 inch rims is already pushing it.

The DR that they had on the car that ran the 10.8 was 305/35/20 Nitto NT555r.

Can someone shed some light on this for me please?
Was there any runs in the hellcat between the 11.2 and 10.8 run?
Was there any runs done after the 10.8 or was it one and done?

So what exactly was the point of posting this video?

Hey look a car that traps 20mph higher than a ZL1 with 120hp more spins half way through the 1/8th mile on street tires. I really, really hope no one watches this and thinks a ZL1 stands a chance against a Hellcat with equal drivers.

Then again there are four active threads with 5.0 vs LS3 where people claim it's a drivers race so who knows.
