front bumper sensors?

I know im not alone when I say this but I CANT SEE A DAMN THING when pulling up to a curb, or in a parking spot im terrified of hitting my front air dam of my ZL1 on the curb, I never had this issue with 02 Z28 because you can see the nose of car.. so my question to you guys, are there a sensor we can install that indicates your getting close to the curb that might beep like the back up warning ?

Curb Alert. There are a bunch of threads on here about it, including this one:

I had never heard of it either until I did a search for you.

I hope it's what you need.

I've brought this issue up with every GM rep or eng I run across, including mentioning it to one of GM's 'Disciples' at CamaroFest last year.
They all listen, but so far nothing has happened.
I wouldn't need a video feed on the front, just put a couple of the same ultrasonic sensors they have on the rear bumper, on the front.
Engage the rear sensors when in reverse, and the front ones when in 1st at up to 2-3mph.
Sounds simple.

One of the spots I use my GoPro works great for looking at curb distance if I have the camera on since I can see a live feed on my phone.

I'm TOTALLY with you on this. Most cars now have both front and rear sensors and most are MUCH easier to navigate in parking lots than the ZL1. So far I've banged my right front wheel, rashed the sh*t out of it, and clipped the front spoiler, also on the right side. Fixed them both right away and I've only owned the car since April but still I'm nervous getting near things and find myself getting out of the car to make sure I'm clearing things. Ridiculous GM couldn't have thrown those on there to begin with.

Works for me!

Just go to an empty lot and place a cone or small object and practice getting as close to it as possible without touching it. It may take several tries but it works. Teaches you to "feel the front end". You have to sometimes learn driving senses not rely on technology to save you every time.

Thinking like yours would have us all dialing rotary phones still. Your thinking is outdated as usual.

Just trying to educate some on a technique that really works. That is how I learned to drive a Fire Engine and also back it up! No horses used either since I'm so outdated.

It's also the reason why my front splitter and wheels are without any curb marks!

I get your "feeling" point. I do. However, the technology is there to make it easier to park these cars. I have another car that easily shows where the nose of the car is.

Do whatever works for you.

Bear in mind, a stock splitter is not that expensive. Perhaps $100? I think.

Now curb rash on the wheels . . . that's an issue.
