I installed my cutouts near the rear right before my mufflers to diminish any kind of clearance issues underneath. I have a pic in my garage and I can take a couple more and post if your interested in my setup?

I have had them on an SS and ZL1. Makes for a great exhaust note, especially if you have a cam.

I had no-weeds installed late June at no-weeds shop. At idle with fuse pulled they are 6 decibals louder, at 3000 rpm they are 12 decibals louder! I will do more comparisons as time permits. I like the sound above 2200 rpm's and at 4000 plus WOW! I have an A-6 when in drive and i pass a car it shifts to 4th and peoples heads turn, the car actually has a slite vibration from the exhaust noise. [It feels good]. I thought the standard exhaust with fuse pulled was loud and now when you close the diverters its like a cadillac! Just some info on my no-weeds experience so far!

I have had mine on for almost a year, and I agree with ZL1-PA. I have destroyed one of the actuators due to the low clearance and bent up the pipe. Luckily, Steve at Noweeds was great to deal with and helped me get it all fixed. My car is lowered, and it only has happened on my inclined driveway. You will just need to be careful. I would not hesitate to recommend these cutouts or their customer service! Both are great!

I went with HF cats and QTP cut outs, because they were half the price of the Noweeds. There is a little more work in installing them, but they worked out great and I haven't had any clearance problems with them.

I said basically.
The No-Weeds are cutouts that can be installed anywhere in the exhaust that they'll physically fit versus the NPP exhaust that basically is a bypass of the muffler....
If you're planning on making any power the cats have to eventually come off anyways, so at that point they are damn close to the same depending on where they are mounted.

Not trying to argue with you, but having the NPP valve open, even without cats, sounds nothing like having open cutouts on the car. With cutouts full open, it is extremely loud. I can vibrate everything on the walls in my house and the car can be heard outside my neighborhood. With the NPP valves open and the cutouts closed, it is much quieter. To the point that you can barely hear the car idling when you are in the house and it definitely cannot be heard outside my neighborhood.

Since we are specifically talking about the Noweeds system, they install in a very specific location, so there isn't any variability to the mounting placement. It's the QTP cutouts that you can place anywhere along the exhaust path, but the install is more difficult due to the welding required. In my opinion, having heard both the QTP on my buddy's SS, and my Noweeds cutouts, I think the Noweeds system sounds better and cleaner. Both are loud.

I guess if you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

The Noweeds are $950. I installed mine myself in about 2 hours and it was actually quite simple.

My buddy has the QTP (about $400) and paid a shop about $400 to do the install. So $800 plus time to get to the shop and leave his car for a day. They are a very reputable performance shop and no other shop would touch it.

Not really a huge difference in price unless you are a skilled welder. Also, the $150 difference really isn't much when you compare the quality of the kits and the down time associated with having a shop weld in the QTP kit. The value of my time alone just about worth it.

I have less than $600 in mine, after already having $70k into the car, the cost was no big deal.
